Draft x gelding in Malahat, British Columbia for sale

Big beautiful 17.3hh Percheron x 1/4 horse gelding (3/4 draft). 15 yrs. Lovely mover. Very well trained. Schooled to about 1st-2nd level dressage in the past but hasn't been ridden much lately. Wonderful under saddle, almost bombproof. Great on roads and trails. Not spooky. Has been ridden by beginners in the past and was wonderful with them. Mostly ridden by my mother who is a timid novice rider and he is absolutely wonderful for her but she is too busy and he isn't getting enough attention. Did four years of vaulting competitions. Jumps very nice but hasn't jumped for a few years. Completely sound, never been lame other then the occasional abscess. No maintenance needed. Needs front shoes. Wonderful under saddle even after weeks off. Can be pushy on the ground so needs a confident handler. Will walk off to eat grass in a regular halter and I cant stop him unless I use a chain or chifney bit. I'm only 5'4 though, someone bigger may not have that issue. Better when he's out on pasture during the day. Good at shows and clinics. Bath, clips and trailers great. Good for farrier. Approved home only. Will not sell him to a riding school or trail riding company. Price negotiable to right home. Can come with some tack, blankets.
