I drove this wagon for over a year with no major issues. I bought it in really nice condition with new air filters and a lot of general maintenance done. I am looking to to part with it as I will be looking to live without the expense of a vehicle. I bought it as a camping vehicle and it served me well. No need for a tent with this guy. The vehicle runs well for having sat all winter. I changed the oil recently and am going to give it a good clean before it moves in to new hands.
opportunities for improvement
- broken odometer. It hasn't moved since I bought it. my guess is that I put 60,000 kms on it while I owned it, but I don't know about the last owner.
-cassette player has a dud cassette tape stuck in there, but the radio works fine.
-unconventional fix on the alternator. A mounting plate for the alternator busted in half so my buddy welded it and the alternator back together. I thought he did a good job so I left it. No problems with it since the fix.
- the parking break is not functional
positive features
-Good tread on winter tires
-There is a sport mode which makes it suprisingly quick for a Volvo. No issues driving at 140 km/hr and beyond
-Its a fun camping rig for one or two people. I am over 6 ft and I slept in there half the summer
-7 seats! my mind was blown wide open when I saw the backwards seat in the back.
-There are rails for a roof rack if you need extra storage when road tripping with 7 of your closest friends ;)
-FWD with traction control. Never had an issue in the rain.
-The suspension works well for the age of the car. No issues at all
-The body is in pretty good shape. I don't recall any rust and there is a rad pinstripe.
The vehicle is located in cobble hill and I would like it to be picked up there. If you do come to pick it up I would recommend bringing some fresh premium gas to get it started as it has been sitting.
